Terms of Use
1. Acceptance
By using Bantuity Research you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
Bantuity Research is an open registry for early-stage scientific concepts. It lets researchers log ideas, attribute them to ORCID identities, discuss them, and claim or fork lineage for execution. The service:
- does not peer-review or endorse scientific validity;
- does not create employment, funding, or collaboration contracts;
- does not replace institutional ethics, IP, or data-governance rules;
- may offer optional AI assistance (Intelligence Engine) under these Terms and third-party provider terms.
3. Accounts and ORCID
Contributing features require ORCID authentication. You agree that you are the legitimate holder of the ORCID identity you use, that information you provide is accurate, and that you will keep access to your account secure. We may suspend accounts involved in fraud or abuse.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit false authorship or use another person’s ORCID without authority;
- post unlawful, harassing, or deliberately harmful content;
- spam, scrape, or overload the service in a way that harms availability;
- attempt to breach security or disrupt the platform;
- use the service for unlawful purposes.
5. Concepts, intellectual property, and attribution
You retain ownership of concepts and text you submit, to the extent you own them. By submitting public registry content, you grant Bantuity Research and its users a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and build upon that content for research and collaboration on the platform.
When you claim or execute a concept originated by others, you agree to provide proper academic and platform attribution as recorded in the registry lineage. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit what you post.
6. AI features
Optional AI tools may generate evaluations, suggestions, or draft text. Outputs can be wrong or incomplete. You remain responsible for how you use any AI-assisted output in research or publication.
7. Disclaimer and liability
Bantuity Research is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or the accuracy, originality, or scientific soundness of registry content. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions you make based on the registry, failed collaborations, or third-party conduct.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are made.
